Already after a couple of kilometers on the bike you will come to a spectacular part of the bike course – the Öland Bridge.  The Öland Bridge is over 6 km long. The bridge was opened in 1972 and was Europe’s longest bridge for over 25 years. Highest point on the bridge is 40 meters. After the bridge you bike through the small port town Färjestaden and then in rural area for about 35 kilometers. At the end of the section you are on the highest point of the course – 51 meter – in the village Resmo. Now you ride 10 kilometers over the Alvar of Öland which basically is a treeless moorland area. The Agricultural landscape of Southern Öland was inscribed on the World Heritage List in 2000. The remaining round on Öland goes mainly through farmland and you return to Färjestaden before you ride back to Kalmar on the Öland Bridge. During the race you also have passed the small towns of Mörbylånga and Gårdby.

After the loop on Öland you return to Kalmar for turning just before the transition area. Then you ride north again on Ängöleden and you bike through the northern parts of the city and then to the small town Lindsdal. Then the course goes through deciduous forest and agricultural areas through the villages of Rockneby and Läckeby before you return to Kalmar.
